Solo Grinder Session #13

 

 

 

Solo Grinder #13 actual play is out.  

The Substack has the Solo Grinder Campaign actual play reports and the Year of the Goat Campaign actual play reports exclusively.  And free;)  Year of the Goat Campaign is a mostly one-on-one Lamentations of the Flame Princess game.  It is set in the same world as the Ox--->Tiger Campaign (when that campaign is not twirling through the Mists of Ravenloft).  Solo Grinder is my first Solo RPG actual play experience.  Base rules are Scarlet Heroes by Kevin Crawford, but many mods have since accrued in 13 sessions.  Fun stuff!  Happy Full Moon in Scorpio!

A Tavern North of Meredune

 Another excellent tavern randomly rolled up using the Hubris tavern tables!  I'll refer you back to this post that shows two earlier taverns for the Ox--->Tiger Campaign I rolled up using Hubris.  

The second job of the children turned to stone ended up leading the game in the direction of investigating that.  You'll find the Solo Grinder Campaign actual play write-ups over on my Substack;)

Session 52-  Dinner With Lady Uljana  

12/4/2022

• Rams attend the dinner with Lady Uljana, where they are feted 

  for killing Mrinahbor the Quiet who had been pillaging the farmland 

  southwest of Glister.

• Geoff gets out on the dance floor.

• Fecus is seated to Lady Uljana’s right, drinking ale, and Tim sits to 

  Lady Uljana’s left, drinking brandy.

• A multi-course meal of salad, cream of celery soup, elk steaks with 

  pickles and various desserts is served at the dinner.

• After dinner Geoff gets back out to the dance floor.

• Other guests in attendance are Sister Korina the 

  Church of the Covenant Abbess, Jafar Asamm local smith and 

  city alderman, Macek the lead cleric at the 

  Temple of Tycho, and Thryna Skarsgard local outfitter and city alderman.

• Tim donates to Thryna’s neighborhood charity to atone for Fecus 

  burning down 

  a brothel in her neighborhood.

• Macek shares a rumor with Fecus regarding tension between Lady Uljana 

  and the Khan.  Also that the Khan might have inserted a spy into Rams’ 

  party or R.E.S.

• Jafar Asamm shares the rumor with Tim about a fantastic location in the 

  western range of the Shudder Mountains known as 

  Luhsaal’s Wheel/Chained Coffin.

• Lady Uljana requests Rams assistance in the upcoming confrontation in 

  Germany.  Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus is invading German Duchies 

  and laying waste to Church of the Covenant predominant settlements.  

  Rams agree to the mission and will be accompanied west by the R.E.S.

• Lady Uljana provides each member of Rams with a bandolier of 

  healing potions, arrows, etc.

• Rams buy Boy a horse.

Session 51-   The Sunken Bell of Mrinahbor the Quiet 

11/27/2022

• Foursi swims out to the large bell that is Mrinahbor’s lair.  

  He dives under the lip of the bell and throws an anti-orgone grenade 

  at the Black Dragon.

• Mrinahbor swims out to confront Rams and R.E.S.

• The Black Dragon is defeated in two combat rounds!

• Rams and R.E.S pack back the dragon’s meat to the Golden Barge 

  and celebrate with a BBQ.

• R.E.S. invites Rams to Glister to have dinner with Lady Uljana

• Rams sail the Golden Barge up the Alethorp to Tragidore

• Rams and R.E.S. travel from Tragidore to Glister by land

• 39,000SP = 3900XP

• 60,000EP = 30,000XP

• 10,000GP = 10,000XP

Session 50-  Retreat from Zogg’s Command Bunker, the R.E.S Requests 

Assistance

11/20/2022

• Rams move through the hallway in Zogg’s Bunker from 

  Room #7 to Room #8.

• In Room #8 Rams operate the lift to the Bubblecar Platform.

• Rams retreat from Zogg’s Bunker.

• Rams arrange for their cooperative Eld Tech to ship Bubblecar 

  fuel to the Black Sand Beach from the Vat Complex.

• Back at the Golden Barge, Rams find their old collaborators the 

  Red Engineering Squad onboard and requesting Rams’ assistance 

  to fight a Black Dragon named Mrinahbor.  Rams agree to help.

• The Golden Barge travels to the mouth of the Alethorp River.

• Rams and R.E.S. take two skiffs through the Dewey Swamp to the 

  pond where Mrinahbor has her lair.

• Rams enter the Bunker Room #1 Foyer.

• Tim casts Knock on the door to Room #7 where Rams encounter 

  6 Eld Warriors and 1 Eld Sergeant.  Eld are defeated (killed) by Rams.

• 6 Eld Warriors killed = 282XP

• 1 Eld Sergeant killed = 135XP

• 4000SP = 400XP

• 1 Scroll Ward Against Elementals

• XP Total = 817XP

• Tim and Fecus receive 272XP each

• Sasha and Ornie receive 136XP each

Session 48-  The Golden Silo of the Vat Complex 

11/6/2022

• In Room #3 of the Golden Silo Rams fight 6 Eld Techs and defeat 

  (kill) them

• In Room #2 of the golden Silo Rams encounter 

  Traffic Control Fuhrer Xixn’ose who casts Antiorgasm against Rams.  

  Shelby (cleric of Tiamat) casts Command (obey) on TCF Xixn’ose and 

  he immediately gives an info drop to Rams re: the bubblecars.

• Rams pilot 3 bubblecars to Pagoda City

• 6 Eld Techs killed = 282XP

• TCF Xixn’ose captured = 350XP

• 1 Scroll, Spell Weird Vortex

  Supervisor is under Shelby’s Command Spell (Amalgamate.)  Tim casts 

  Suggestion on the Eld Technician.

• Rams are led to the Golden Silo through the Lower Level Vat area.

• In the Pilot Break Room several characters use the Eld Testosterone 

  Chairs.

• Rams fight 6 Eld Techs in the Eld Barracks on level 4 of the Golden Silo.

• Rams go to Level 3 the bubble car hanger and see 6 Eld Techs pretending 

  to work.  Stopped game before this conflict.

• 1 Eld Soldier killed = 47XP

• 5 Eld Techs killed = 5x47XP

• 2 Eld Techs captured (one subdued by a spell) = 2x47XP

• 1 Vatman Supervisor captured ( subdued by spell) = 190XP

Session 46- Meet Bav, Then Retreat from Vat Complex

10/9/2022

• Rams break through the welded shut door between 

  Room #14 and Room #27 where they encounter Bav 

  and fight, then quickly retreat and Tim seals the room 

  with Wizard Lock.

• Rams decide to leave the Vat Complex and go back to 

  the Golden Barge.

• On the way out of the Vat the Rams run into 4 Vatmen 80 XP, 

  1 Vatman Supervisor 190XP, and 3 Vat Giants 1680XP that they kill.  

• Rams leave the Vat Complex location and camp overnight 

  between Pagoda City and Behvo Wagon.

• Rams re-unite with Boy and Gigurg and go back to the 

  Golden Barge to do magical research and shipboard activities.

• 1000 CP = 10XP

• 2000 SP = 200XP

• 3000 GP = 3000XP

• Gems 4 = 10 GP, 50 GP, 10 GP, 10 GP = 80XP
