The attack roll results from the Slime Zombies in Room #20.

 

Session 120-  In the Hanger of the Astral Vessel

3/17/2024

  • 8 Slime Zombies and 4 Olive Slimes are encountered in 

    Room #19 of Level 0.  The large room contains an Astral Vessel!  

    Rams adapt their strategy to defeat the Slime Zombies a bit 

    more quickly than the previous encounter.

  • The team search the Astral Vessel and find a locked steel box 

    of treasure.

  • They try to enter Room #21, but fail at unlocking the door.

  • Rams enter Room #20, encountering 3 Slime Zombies that they kill.  

    The room contains machinery that appears to power/control 

    apparatus in other rooms.

  • They backtrack through Room #21 and Tim Wizard Locks the 

    Astral Vessel and the SW door.

  • Back in Room #17, Rams discover the purpose of the machinery 

    now that it has power.  It allows contact with 8 deities!

  • 11 Slime Zombies killed = 9020 XP

  • 4 Olive Slimes killed = 188 XP

  • 630 GP = 630 XP

  • 3450 SP = 345 XP

  • Dagger 1d4+1

  • Vial of Venom

  • Total XP = 10,183 XP

Session 119-  Rams Vs. 5 Adam Shamblers (Slime Zombies)

3/10/2024

  • Rams camp in Room #8 of level 0 with no encounters occurring.

  • Next day they explore Rooms #9, #10, #11, and #17.  They open 

    the door to Room #19 where I end the session.

  • In Room #10 they fight and kill 5 Slime Zombies with much difficulty 

    due to the Slime Zombies’ immunities.  Treasure in footlockers!

  • Hallways to the SE of Room #10 lead to cave ins.  They conjecture 

    there to be rooms on the other side and try to circle around.

  • In Room #11 they note the difference in floor tile colors.  Ferika goes 

    into the White Tile Alcove and it reinforces her Law alignment.  Yaroj 

    walks on the Black Tile, but doesn’t go in the Black Tile Alcove.

  • In Room #17 they discover a strange apparatus that appears to be 

    cut off from a power source.

  • Searching for a power source takes them to the Mag-locked door of 

    Room #19.  Tim opens using Knock.

  • 5 Slime Zombies killed = 4100 XP

  • Hematite 50 GP = 50 XP

  • Rock Crystal 75 GP = 75 XP

  • Topaz 1000 GP = 1000 XP

  • 325 GP = 325 XP

  • Potion of Invisibility

  • Total XP = 5550 XP

  • Tim and Fecus each receive 1850 XP

Session 118-  The Elevator Goes Up?!?

3/3/2024

  • Tim and Fecus are surprised that there is both an up and a down 

    button in the elevator.  They choose to go up.

  • They move out of the Elevator Room into hallways and discover 

    12 Dwimmersilk Garments, 6 Belts of Adaptation, and 1 Helm of 

    Astral Movement in Room #2.

  • The next encounter occurs in Room #3 and it involves 3 hostile 

    patches of Memory Moss.  Rams win initiative and quickly kill the 

    creatures.

  • Circling back around to the hallway outside the Elevator Room doors, 

    they encounter a Shambling Mound that severely injures a couple of 

    the hirelings before it is killed.

  • Room #7 is explored, it contains nothing of interest.

  • In Room #8, 4 Phycomids are encountered and killed.  The team 

    collects mushrooms off of the dead creatures.

  • 12 Dwimmersilk Garments

  • 6 Belts of Adaptation

  • 1 Helm of Astral Movement

  • Gelatinous Cube killed in Session #117 = 75 XP

  • 3 Memory Moss patches killed = 30 XP

  • Shambling Mound killed = 1820 XP

Session 117-  Wrapping Up in Muntburg, Re-entering Dwimmermount

2/25/2024

  • Geoph is developing some suspicions regarding the Termaxians after 

    talking with Bobila.

  • Bobila decides she must go back to work to relieve young Belgra.

  • “George and Sharon” return to The Broken Twig with Bobila and sit 

    down at the feast table and engage Helgot the Junk Collector in 

    conversation about Dwimmermount.  Bobila buys them 2 bottles of 

    red wine to thank them for healing whatever had afflicted her.

  • Helgot’s rumors as follows:

    • The water in Dwimmermount is toxic.

    • Every door with a lock is also trapped and can only be safely 

      bypassed by someone bearing a special Thulian seal.

    • Dwimmermount was once one of the largest sources of raw 

      azoth in the entire world.

    • An entire brood of dragons nests in Dwimmermount.

    • Anyone who dies within the walls of Dwimmermount can never 

      be restored to life by any means.

  • As “George and Sharon” say their goodbyes to Bobila, she learns they 

    plan to meet Proctor Louys Herint the next morning.  She warns them 

    that he is a racist jerk and that he might give “George” a difficult time 

    (Geoph/George is a gnome).

  • They check into The Green Dragon Inn and set watches; 

    Geoph 1st watch and Shelby 2nd watch.  The night is mostly uneventful, 

    although Geoph hears the inn’s other occupant walk past their door and 

    pause before continuing down the hallway.

  • Waking up early and checking out of the inn, they head over to the 

    Chapel of Tycho and meet Exorcist Emelisse.  She is quite relaxed 

    and welcoming while answering their questions.  She has one 

    Dwimmermount rumor:

    • A secret back entrance leads to the first level.

  • At the Temple of St. George, they meet Proctor Louys Herint, who 

    lives up to his racist and dogmatic reputation.

  • “George and Shelby” thank Corporal Pieru for allowing them to enter 

    Muntburg, and leave the town to go back to the Golden Barge and fill 

    in Team Rams regarding the information they gathered.  Tim and Fecus 

    decide it is time to re-enter Dwimmermount.

  • As Lachada pilots the GB towards Dwimmermount, the GB begins to 

    warn her of a force barrier that might cause the Barge problems if she 

    tries to pass through it.  Tim and Fecus have her find an appropriate 

    spot to park, and take a team on foot the rest of the way to the 

    megadungeon.

  • After entering, Tim casts Wizard Lock on the entrance doors.  The team 

    is directed to pile Room #1 statues in front of the entrance doors.

  • South of the statue of the god Nirval, they encounter a Gelatinous Cube.

  • The kill the Gelatinous Cube and Fecus claims the rusty sword that had 

    been encased within it.

  • Rams enter the Room #56 and Tim casts Wizard Lock on the entrance door.  

    Fecus instructs the team to write taunting and derogatory signs to leave in 

    the room.

  • They use the Termaxian Passkey to call the elevator and everybody gets 

    on the platform.  Up or down?  We’ll all find out next session;-)

Session 116-  Teramaxian Cult Recon in Muntburg

2/18/2024

  • Rams decide to follow up on the Termaxian Cult info that Geoph 

    acquired in the forest north of Oberstdorf.

  • They land the Golden Barge to the west of Muntburg on the other 

    side of a patch of woods.

  • Geoph and Shelby are chosen to enter Muntburg to see if they can 

    make contact with the cultist that frequents The Broken Twig Tavern.

  • At the Main Gate of Muntburg, Geoph and Shelby are asked to give 

    their names and intentions for entering the town.

  • They give the fake names of George and Sharon to Corporal Pieru, 

    and tell him they are religious researchers interested in interviewing 

    the heads of Muntburg’s religious institutions.  Corporal Pieru writes 

    this info down in a notebook and confirms that “George and Sharon” 

    have enough funds to stay overnight, then he lets them into Muntburg.

  • “George and Sharon’s” first stop in town is the Temple of St. George.  

    They meet Brother Symon, an acolyte, whom they make an 

    appointment with to interview Proctor Louys Herinst at 8am the 

    following day.

  • Their next stop is The Broken Twig Tavern.

  • The only information Geoph has about the Termaxian Cultist is her 

    name, Bobila.

  • “George and Sharon” walk past a long feast table where a very drunk 

    woman is the only person sitting at in the rather lively tavern.  As the 

    two pass her, she prophecizes that everyone who enters Dwimmermount 

    will die, then she pukes into a bowl and passes out.

  • “George and Sharon” ask the very young bartender if she knows of a 

    woman named Bobila.  The bartender, Belgra, is actually the younger 

    sister of Bobila, who suffered from violent convulsions and fainted right 

    before her shift as bartender started.  Belgra came in to cover Bobila’s 

    shift.

  • “George and Sharon” ask Belgra if she knows anything about 

    Dwimmermount.  She doesn’t know much, but thinks a customer 

    over by the fireplace named Old Krink might know more.

  • “George and Sharon” buy Old Krink and his cronies a few rounds 

    of drinks and get several Dwimmermount rumors from the grizzled 

    old veteran as follows:

    • Shadowy figures coming and going from Dwimmermount 

      (Termaxian Cultists).

    • An ancient automaton within the dungeon offers aid and 

      healing to adventurers.

    • Machines in the dungeon can imbue bones with magical 

      power.

    • The skeletons with bones made of metal are not undead 

      and cannot be turned.

  • “George and Sharon” offer to look in on Belgra’s sister Bobila and 

    see if they can provide aid (healing) to her.

  • As they leave The Broken Twig, Shelby casts Purify Food & Drink 

    on the spoiled food on the feast table.

  • At the home of Belgra and Bobila, “Sharon” casts Cure Disease on 

    Bobila and she is healed and awakens from her stupor.

  • “George and Sharon” ask Bobila about the Termaxian Cult, but she 

    is a very low level member with little knowledge.  Her only insights 

    are that she wonders if the last ritual she attended made her ill, and 

    that a new ritual will be held in the woods north of Oberstdorf in 2 weeks.
