Session 112- “No Rest for the Wicked” Part 1

Before leaving Yellow Skull, Tim and Fecus donate 1000 GP to the
youth soccer team that names itself the Junior Rams in honor of the
adventurers.
4 days later, the GB lands in a clearing west of the Shudder Mountains.
The GB Away Team (Tim, Fecus, Mike, Myldgyd, and 4 ghuls) decides
to do a perimeter check on foot.
They find a footpath leading to the southeast. Following it, they
discover The Soldier’s Rest Inn and Trading Post approximately a
mile down the path.
Tim and Fecus debate whether or not to bring the ghuls inside or
tie them up outside like horses…. they settle on bringing them inside,
but notice everyone inside is disturbed, so they send the ghuls back
to the barge.
Tim and Fecus talk to Jarla Herzog, wife of the inn’s owner
Griswold Herzog. They notice a family of 6 (the Steiners) sitting at
the table nearest the fireplace.
When Jarla’s husband returns to the inn, he informs the Steiners that
the Imperial Army has camped nearby and the Steiners quickly hide in
the cellar of the inn. Griswold asks Tim and Fecus if they can keep quiet
about the Steiners and they agree to not mention that they had seen
the family and go so far as to offer the Steiners refuge on the
Golden Barge.
Mike and Myldgyd accompany the Steiners to the Golden Barge.
4 Imperial spies masquerading as traveling scholars arrive at the
Soldier’s Rest and start up a conversation with Tim and Fecus.
The leader of the Imperial spy group, Katharina Ruppel, asks
Tim and Fecus some questions probing to see what side of the
conflict they’re on and if they’ve encountered the deserter
Lodwig Steiner.
Tim and Fecus claim ignorance regarding Lodwig Steiner, but
Katharina is suspicious of them. She claims she is going to check
on something in the barn and takes her horse, riding south towards
the Imperial Army Camp.
Tim claims to need to go to the bathroom and wanders outside, uses
Invisibility, and watches Katharina take her horse and ride south.
Tim uses a predetermined code phrase with Fecus back inside the Inn,
“Remember Copher and Gunda” and Fecus is alerted to the dangerous
turn the situation has taken.
Fecus creates a bit of a distraction for the remaining 3 mercenaries that
allows Tim to cast ESP on Anna. Her thought that he reads is
“She knows I can track them if they escape”.
