Session 203- A Return to Barovia Part 53; Lamordia 2

For the sake of discretion, Fecus has the stranger from the mists,
Valan, get off the magic carpet and walk into Neufurchtenburg.
Rams wind their way through the bustling mining town (on the
verge of a small city) and find an inexpensive inn called the
Salty Corpse, a coffin-style hotel. Tim has a “AAA” card from
the “MIner’s Union” and gets a discount for the rooms.
The team go in search of food and beverage and end up at
The Laughing Golem, a tavern run by the elderly, but spry
Fleta Himmelreich. Rams are astounded at the beer, wine,
and liquor selection and Fleta mixes a drink to order for each
member after Tim offers to buy a round for the whole tavern.
Drasha quietly notes a well-dressed woman slinks out when the
info is confirmed that Rams are visitors from beyond the mists.
Rams learn a few things while drinking and eating sandwiches:
There was a scandal involving the scientist, Dr. Viktra
Mordenheim and her team resulting in the mists closing
the borders. They were banished from Neufurchtenburg.
Ever since the borders closed, trade has been nearly
impossible. Many worry about the coal stores.
The Schult is weak. If he were serious, he’d ask the
scientists to find a way through these strange mists.
The well-dressed woman, Rohesia Frey, re-enters The Laughing
Golem and approaches Tim and Fecus and extends the invitation
of Shult Ulrich Herzewalde to visit his townhouse.
Rohesia tries to hurry Team Rams, but they stretch it out and get
a second round and feed Valan another sandwich before he looks
like he’ll pass out, then they send him back to the Salty Corpse
and then they follow Rohesia up to the Schulthaus.
The Schult is direct in his request for help in finding some
scientists. He thinks that Rams could find the assistant of
Dr. Viktra Mordenheim, Dr. Yonas Savitch. He offers a 50 GP/party
member purse up front with a promise of 100 GP/ party member
more after delivering the message to Dr. Savitch that they need his
help finding Dr. Mordenheim. Shelby casts Augery and gets the
result of Weal, so the team agree to the job, thinking it might help
lead to finding their ally.
Rams go back to the Salty Corpse and set watches which are
uneventful except some rowdy drunkards come stumbling back
when Gugula sits 1st watch.
Next morning, Rams set out to sell some inventory and go to
Osterhagen’s Jewelry and Gem Market first.
