Session 159- A Return to Barovia Part 10

• Rams go to the Burgomaster’s household to see if they can find Victor.  

  A Town Guard is posted at the Burgomaster’s front door.  The 

  Burgomaster doesn’t want to be disturbed because his wife Lydia is in 

  utter shock due to her proximity to Rams’ fight with Izek.  The 

  Burgomaster thinks Izek was trying to kill his wife and Rams stepped 

  in to help.  Izek was really attacking Rams because of their 

  investigation into the Ireena dolls.

• Shelby makes use of a Potion of Human Control to persuade the 

  Guard into letting Rams go try to talk to Victor, promising they won’t 

  disturb Vargas and Lydia.  The Guard leads them in and up to Victor’s 

  room, but Victor isn’t there so Rams agree to leave to keep the Guard 

  happy.

• Rams pretend to leave the neighborhood.  They circle back and climb 

  the garden wall to the Burgomaster’s mansion.

• Shelby ingests a Gaseous Form Potion and floats to the roof where 

  she changes back to solid form and assists the rest up to the roof.

• Fecus uses his X-Ray ring to survey the attic layout.  Rams enter a 

  window on the opposite side of the attic they think Victor is inhabiting.

• Rams creep through the attic and stop at the door to where they think 

  Victor is located.  The door has a skull carved into it, a sign that says 

  “All is NOT well!”, and the door has an obvious magical trap.

• Shelby casts Dispel Magic on the door; Fecus uses a scroll of 

  Giant Strength before entering Victor’s Workshop.

• Rams enter the room and surprise Victor and his skeleton cats.  

  Victor doesn’t attack; he wants to talk.

• Tim casts ESP on Victor to learn his motives for making the skeleton 

  cats and making Stella think she was a cat.  It turns out it was just all 

  an awkward attempt to impress her.

• Tim also wants to know what Victor’s motives were for testing his 

  Teleport Circle on the household servants.  He is desperate to get out 

  of Barovia and thought that the Teleport Circle would help the servants 

  leave the miserable place, too.  He is quite remorseful that it didn’t 

  work and ended up killing them in the process.

• Rams take pity on Victor and allow him to join them.  They are 

  planning to leave Barovia with him in tow when they figure out how to 

  escape.

• Victor gives Fecus a skeleton cat.
