Session 184- A Return to Barovia Part 34

Morgantha descends the stairs in her human form of an elderly
woman. She has pastries for sale.
Semyon, Drasha, and Vasilka all purchase and eat the pastries
before anyone else can intervene. They immediately fall into a
blissful trance.
The Abbot rushes Vasilka outside and Clovin follows them.
Morgantha keeps trying to push the purchase of the pastries, but
the rest of Team Rams resist. Morgantha says, “Team Rams, isn’t
that a jaunty name!”
Morgantha’s daughters Bella and Offalia descend the stairs in their
human form as unattractive and unkempt women.
Team Rams are asked to leave if no one else wants to purchase
pastries.
They do not leave; Shelby drinks a potion of Human Control and
tries to affect Offalia while the potion is active. This triggers combat.
Rams win initiative. Tim casts Army of One on Gugula.
Victor uses Magic Missile.
Shelby casts Neutralize Poison on Semyon.
Bella almost kills Fecus with Magic Missile.
Morgantha is nearly killed, so she casts Plane Shift and escapes.
More fighting happens, then Bella and Offalia escape using Plane
Shift.
The Abbot popped his head in during combat to lend “morale
support”.
After the battle is finished, the Abbot heals those who need it.
He chastises Tim and Fecus for picking this “shortcut”.
Tim and Fecus go upstairs in the Old Bonegrinder and rescue 2
children, Freek and Myrtle.
Tim and Fecus get the small treasure out of the mattress.
On the top floor, they discover the Nightfall Pearl. Tim had used
both Fecus’ X-ray ring and his own Magic Detection Helm to locate
it during the last stages of battle.
Dretch killed = 50 XP
6 Pieces of Jewelry = 150 GP = 150 XP
Freek and Myrtle rescued = 20 XP
Total XP = 220 XP
Tim and Fecus each receive 73 XP
Gugula and Shelby each receive 37 XP
Perchance Prompt 7/16/25 a hag disguised as an ugly old woman
sells pastries from her windmill
