Session 124-  Rams Explore With Astral Reavers Part 2

4/14/2024

• Team Rams and the Astral Reavers agree to take a rest in Room #29.  

  Encounters were rolled for but the dice said no;-)  There were some 

  nteractions between members of the 2 teams.  When everyone wakes 

  up in the morning, H’Raon takes his watch members aside for a 

  debrief in their language, so Rams can’t understand the exchange.

• Watch 1.  Ornie comments that the area is dank and musty.  

  Gugula asks Idilac what kind of action the Reavers have seen.  

  He tersely explains they were doing patrols and supply runs in 

  the Astral Realm.

• Watch 2.  Geoph tries flirting with Jeler and she seems 

  disgusted by him not wearing pants.  When Geoph’s flirting 

  doesn’t get the results he hoped for he farts and Jeler walks 

  away.  Tentacle roars softly when Geoph farts.

• Watch 3.  Sigrun seems like she has gotten slightly drunk.  

  Yigreg notices and asks Ferika what is wrong with Sigrun.  

  Ferika says Sigrun has PTSD from all the bad things that 

  have happened to her during the past adventures.  Yigreg 

  comments “Bad luck is no excuse for dereliction of duty.”

• Room #31a the antenna for the beacon that drew the Astral Reavers 

  to Dwimmermount is discovered along with some teleportation pads 

  in 31b, 31c, and 31d.  The pads are without power and H’Raon asks 

  Tim and Fecus whether they had found a control room anywhere on 

  Lvl 0. They recall that the room (#20) that powered up the deity 

  communication device was probably the control room.  H’Raon 

  seems distrustful of teleportation tech.

• Room #34 contains the machinery that dials up the teleport location.  

  Each of the 3 pads have 3 locations that they can transport to; 

  Areon (Mars), Ioun (the Moon), and Kythirea (Venus).

• Room #32 an Ochre Jelly is encountered and killed.

• Room #33 a treasure vault is discovered.

• Room #35 contains some old wooden chairs.

• Room #36 contains a steel desk and chair along with 2 Olive Slimes 

  that are killed.  Fecus uses his pry bar to open the desk drawer.  

  H’raon swoops in to take the treasure.

• Room #37 is a moldy rotten barracks where 2 Yellow Molds are 

  encountered and killed.  A Treasure Map (14,000 GP) for a 

  location on the slopes of Dwimmermount is found.  H’raon shows 

  no interest in the exterior of the dungeon and gives it to Fecus.

• Room #38 is a moldy, algae coated latrine/shower room.  4 Algoids 

  are encountered.  The Algoids win initiative and use their Mind Blast 

  powers to great effect, stunning the following Team Rams members 

  for 11 rounds:

• The only Rams not stunned (Yaroj, Geoph, Gugula, and Gunda) 

  begin to fight the Algoids.  1 Algoid is killed.  H’Raon’s team is 1 

  room away and not stunned.  Session ends in the middle of the fight.

Session 123-  Rams Explore With Astral Reavers Part 1

• Rams and the Astral Reavers start exploring the Lvl 0 together; 

  they leave Room #27 through the NW door.  Rams take the lead.

• Room #28 is a cell that contains a skeleton that has turned green 

  and brittle.

• Room #16 is a guard post with nearly empty weapons racks.  

  An Adamantine Shield +1 is the only thing of value.

• Room #15 empty.

• Room #14 is a large solarium with a pool of water.  

  2 Shambling Mounds attack and Rams do the heavy lifting, 

  but the Astral Reaver female MU has to use Fireball to finish 

  off the 2nd S.M.  Treasure.

• Room #13 is empty.

• Room #12 is the Gallery of the Four Worlds, a room with frescoes 

  depicting Earth, Kythirea (Venus), Ioun (the Moon), and Areon (Mars).

• Room #29 is a small storage area containing 2 Basidironds 

  (I nicknamed these creatures giant space mushrooms).  

  1 creature made a successful spore attack on the hireling Kruluzax 

  and he hallucinated for 3 rounds that he was sinking in a swamp 

  and the only course of action that made sense to him was to begin 

  stripping off all of his armor and gear.  The rest of Team Rams was 

  successful in killing the Basironds and Fecus ordered a team member 

  to collect some flesh for experimentation later on.

• 2 Shambling Mounds killed = 3640 XP

Session 122-  “Please Follow Us to Meet Our Commander”

• Rams set watches and rest in Room #19 with no encounters occurring 

  (rolled for the 3 watches and the dice said no;-)

• The next day, they poked around on the Astral Vessel again, they 

  didn't learn anything new, but estimate that it would take weeks if not 

  months to learn how to operate the vehicle.

• Tim uses Wizard Lock on all of the man sized doors of Room #19 and 

  they attempt to enter Room #21 again.

• All the mundane Open Doors attempts fail, so Gunda uses Knock to 

  open the door.  A Potion of Plant Control is found along with a 

  Kythirean Stone (harmless) is also acquired (by Sigrun).

• Room #22 is unlocked (the door has a Thulian Danger symbol on it) 

  and entered and 2 more Kythirean Stones are found, but their 

  condition appears active and Rams take a cautious approach to 

  investigating without touching.

• 2 Astral Reavers arrive in Room #21 and ask Rams to come meet 

  their commander.

• Rams are led to Room #27 where they meet H’raon (surrounded by 5 

  other Astral Reavers), the commander, and he asks if Rams are the 

  ones who turned on the beacon.  Rams are unsure what he means, 

  but a conversation leads to H’raon learning a barrier was dropped a 

  few months ago and the beacon had been transmitting all along.

• H’raon proposes a non-aggression pact and co-operative exploration 

  of Dwimmermount.  Rams agree for now.

Session 121-  Talking to Gods

• Intrigued by the possibility of speaking to Deities of the Realm, 

  Rams brainstorm some questions and decide who will talk to 

  which god.  There are 8 to choose from, some more known to 

  the party than others.  They are as follows:

• St. George

• Tycho

• Tiamat

• The Sovereign

• Habeka

• Ataala

• Nirgal

• Donn

• Sigrun attempts to contact Donn, but fails and takes an 

  electrical shock from the communication apparatus.

• Ewald also attempts to contact Donn and also fails and the 

  electrical shock kills him.  He reverts from spider form back to human.  

  He is quickly revived by Shelby.

• Tim, a worshiper of Tiamat, chooses to contact her and succeeds.

• As Geoph is finishing up his queries, 4 Slime Zombies wander in and 

  a quick skirmish results in Gerben Warbear being infected before 

  Rams can kill the Slime Zombies.  After the conflict, Fecus uses his 

  Black Flame Sword to carve the infected tissue off of Gerben’s upper 

  arm.
