Session 21- East of Stary Bob Part 2

5/10/2024

• Enter the dungeon near the menhirs.

• First chamber is damp with rocks and stalactites.  2 tunnels lead 

  in different directions, Danika chooses the drier.

• Next chamber they see stone rats then fight a Cockatrice.

• In the next chamber, Cheryl T takes damage from a series of traps.

• After the hallway of traps is a crypt containing a Vrock.  Hurley 

  and Hachiro use Faerie Fire, Staff of Ragygi, and Magic Missile 

  to defeat the demon.

• Room with a waterfall, Hurley gets pulled under and almost drowns.

• They exit the dungeon and begin to return to Stary Bob.

• On the way back they encounter and kill the Ogre that nests in 

  the river bank.

• Danika makes agreements with Gared the Mayor Stary Bob 

  regarding some orphans she wants to send to wrangle the spiders.  

  With a generous donation (290 GP), Gared agrees to have the town 

  welcome and assist the children in setting up their enterprise.

• Danika gifts Damselfly Dawndancer 10 GP and asks her to say hi to 

  Randolph and ask about the mushrooms.

• Farka returns to Ctyri Ctvrt with 1 orphan.

Session 158- A Return to Barovia Part 9

12/31/2024

• Rams arrive at Vallaki Town Square for the Festival of the Blazing Sun.  

  They are escorted to a raised viewing platform.

• The Burgomaster’s Procession enters Vallaki Town Square.  The 

  Burgomaster’s wife Lydia Petrovna Vallakovich joins Rams on the 

  platform.

• Burgomaster Vallakovich begins lighting the Wicker Sun effigies on 

  the western edge of  the town square.

• Due to persistent rain, the Burgomaster’s torch goes out.  One of the 

  present Town Guards begins laughing uncontrollably at the 

  Burgomaster.

• The Burgomaster orders 2 other Town Guards to arrest the laughing 

  guard and put him in the stocks.

• The Burgomaster goes back to lighting the Blazing Suns.

• Tim is attacked by Clavdia with a Ray of Sickness.  He fails his Save 

  and takes significant damage.

• Izek and Clavdia win initiative.

• Clavdia casts Invisibility and disappears.  Izek hurls fire at Gugula.

• Fecus puts Gugula out; Shelby uses Command on Izek and he rips 

  his testicles off.  Tim casts MM on Clavdia and kills her.

• Izek stems the blood flow in his groin region with an Ireena doll he 

  pulls out of his armor.

• 30 Commoners begin to rush the platform that Rams are standing on.  

  A conspiracy/unkindness of ravens swarms down on the Commoners 

  pushing them back.  2 ravens drop healing potions on Rams’ platform; 

  Tim and Gugula drink the potions.

• Gugula attacks Izek with the Spider Pike.  A 1 is rolled and a Dex 

  check fails, so the Spider Pike shatters on Izek’s monstrous arm.

• Tim casts MM on Izek and kills him.

• Rams attend a party at the Blue Water Inn to celebrate the defeat of 

  Izek and the Barovian Witch Clavdia Cantemir.

• Rams talk to the patrons of the Blue Water to get a feel for whether 

  they think the Burgomaster’s son, Victor, was in any way a conspirator 

  with Izek.  The rumors are inconclusive, but Rams are still suspicious 

  of Victor.

• Heal, set watches, and sleep.

• The next morning they find a bundle of clothes on their stairway to the 

  Inn’s ground floor.  The clothes have a few black feathers stuck to the 

  inside of the garments.

• That morning they receive a letter from Lady Wachter saying that 

  Stella has recovered from her shock and madness.  She has left the 

  Wachter household and taken up residence at St Andral’s.

• Rams visit Stella at St Andral’s.  She is helping in the kitchen there 

  baking bread.  Tim casts ESP on her to learn more of her time as 

  Victor’s wife.

• 6000 CP = 60 XP

Session 20- East of Stary Bob Part 1

5/4/2024

• Franticek sends a bit of info regarding the location of a particular 

  type of spider that Danika is looking for lately.  There is rumored 

  to be a nest of them east of Stary Bob, a small farming village east 

  of Bystrica.  He recommends Damselfly Dawndancer to guide 

  them through the area.  Damselfly lives in Bystrica.

• Danika assigns the orphan Peijing to help with the Hruz snails.

• Danika and team travel through Bystrica and pick up Damselfly.

• They arrive in Stary Bob and stop at the farm cafe The Pickled Bean 

  and meet locals.

• Damselfly and Cheryl do a scouting trip to assess the bandit camp 

  east of Stary Bob.

• Danika’s team does a night raid on the camp and clear the bandits out.

• Empty burrow with small treasure.

• Broke down wagon small treasure.

• River crossing.

• Ruined cottage w/ pickles.

• Hachiro uses the Staff of Ragygi to Sleep all 6 of the giant 

  Black Widow Spiders.  Danika was able to extract 12 Vials of Venom.

• Pass by Mysterious Shrine.

• Everybody avoids the Viper at the fork in the road.  Danika? 

  Finds a mouse skeleton key.

• After they enter the swamp, Hurley meets a rat who he casts 

  Speak with Animals on.  The rat asks Hurley “Want to trade 

  silver mirror for?”

• Crocodile attack!

• Shriekers and a Troll!

• At the Big Tree, avoid a nest of water moccasins in submerged 

  statue hand.

• Cross the beaver dam.

• They avoid the boar mother.

• The will o’ wisp shocks someone.

• Skeleton on edge of swamp, submerged.

• Magically clear water area of swamp.

• Flooded flower meadow leads to a forest temple where 

  6 Goblins are fought and killed.

• Past another pond stand some menhirs and the dungeon entrance 

  lies a few steps beyond.

• 3 Bandits killed = 30 XP

• 1 Crocodile killed = 50 XP

• 1 Troll killed = 250 XP

• 6 Goblins killed = 60 XP
