Mirielle Vs. Baba Lysaga

Session 176- A Return to Barovia Part 26

4/20/2025

• As the wait for the Baba Lysaga and Mirielle drags past nightfall, 

  watches are set and a fireless camp is made.

• Gugula sits the first watch.  She polishes her warhammer as her 

  watch passes uneventfully.

• Fecus sits the second watch.  He listens to the sounds of the river 

  as he sorts through his inventory of particular stored moistures, of 

  which he is a connoisseur.

• Drasha sits the third watch, quietly mourning the death of her brother 

  Seraz and promising his spirit that she will seek vengeance for his 

  death.  Wiping tears from her eyes, she notices movement outside 

  the stone circle resolves into 7 Zombies.  She wakes up the sleeping 

  members of her party and they notice a disturbance on the horizon 

  aerially as well.

• The party begin fighting the Zombies, while keeping an eye on the 

  mass flying closer that on first identification appears to be an 

  enormous insect swarm, but as it flies over the standing stone circle, 

  purple gem-like scales can be seen, and the party realize it’s the 

  Baba Lysaga in Swarm Form surrounding Mireille.

• The Baba Lysaga and Mireille crash land, Mireille is close enough for 

  Shelby to move over and heal her (not all the way healed).

• Tim and Victor use ranged spells to pick away at Baba Lysaga as the 

  rest of the team kill the Zombies.

• Mireille casts Blight to finish off the Baba Lysaga.  Then she 

  transforms back into the Purple Gem.  

• Shelby picks up the Purple Gem.  Mireille speaks telepathically with 

  Tim and Fecus to tell them where the Pink Gem has been for 10 years.

• The Abbot in Krezk’s St. Markovia Abbey stole the Pink Gem to create 

  the perfect bride for Strahd, Vasilka.

• The Abbot is a mad angel, corrupted by the realm he fell into.

• They leave the abandoned village of Berez.  Heading north they see 

  illusions in the mist of great battles near Argynvostholt.

• Session ends as the party approaches the intersection of the 

  Old Svalich Road and the Luna River Road, west of the Luna River 

  Bridge.  Will they go to Krezk immediately or go to Vallaki to hire 

  more help?

• 7 Zombies killed = 350 XP

• Baba Lysaga killed = 7200 XP

• 10,000 GP = 10,000 XP

• 1d4+4 Staff

• Total XP 17,550 XP

• Tim and Fecus each receive 5850 XP

• Gugula an Shelby each receive 2925 XP
